SE Energy Project Manager Jake Jansen Earns PMP Certification

Sikeston, Mo. (May 10, 2018)— SE Energy, a nationwide specialty electrical construction, engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Sikeston Mo., is pleased to announce that Project Manager, Jake Jansen, has earned his Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification. The PMP is a globally recognized certification for project managers.

“We are very proud of Jake for qualifying to take and passing the PMP exam,” said Cal Crader, PE and CEO of SE Energy. “He has been an important part of our team going on four years now, and we are excited to watch him continue his growth in the industry.”

The PMP certification is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers. The exam is four hours and comprised of 200 questions. To qualify to take the exam, applicants must complete 4500 hours leading and directing projects as well as 35 hours of project management education. Jansen completed his project management education hours through OSHA safety courses. In order to maintain his certification, Jansen must earn 60 professional development units every three years.

“One of the most challenging parts of getting certified was just qualifying to sit for the exam and completing the application,” said Jansen. “From start to finish, the whole process took about four months. This was always something I planned on doing after school and the timing just lined up great for me, professionally. I’m glad I get to bring another level of accreditation to SE Energy.”

As a Project Manager, Jansen is responsible for coordinating pre-planning for SE Energy jobs and making sure they have the right tools and personnel on site. Once a job begins, he is on site for the entire project to oversee completion. Jansen graduated from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO with a Bachelor of Science in physics and worked for an electrical contractor in St. Louis before joining SE Energy in 2014.
